Alana Rodriguez is a visual artist originally from Little Rock, Arkansas based in Dallas, Texas. Pulling from many personal interpretations and experiences of life, she creates works that represent a culmination of those encounters wholly. “It is my intention and duty to express the Black experience from a lens often left unseen. The Black experience is not a monolith. It can come in many shapes, sizes, and perspectives. The kaleidoscope of this experience and its differences and similarities to others is where the uniqueness is built. Art through my eyes offers a nuanced perspective on the Black experience in America and in the world, offering the perfect balance of being an individual while proudly being a part of the whole.” Her works include the following media: photography, graphite, color pencils, charcoal, and pen/ink.
